Silent Revolution

Silent revolution Sophie Dunér © 1997 & 1998

See me with a smile so fixed on my face,

It is so good, it is so sad –

Slicing my heart back to reality.

Tempting all the new joys and the freedom

Will I call for revolution, or will I stay right where I am?

It can be safer now,

Without any screams or cries.

But can it be greater now,

When nobody is making any sounds?

Courageous, I will walk into the sunlight

With the spirit of a fresh fight.

I can feel my heart is right

Thinking of the new life’s innovation

It’s a totally new sensation.

I will call out for my freedom –

It can be safer now,

Without any screams or cries.

But can it be greater now

When nobody is making any sounds?

Twisting all my thoughts and all my doubting.

Shall I stay or should I be fighting, or shall I

put my soul to sleep?

Silence is a danger we all know of

No expression can be deadly,

Making your heart lose all its blood.

It can be safer now,

Without any screams or cries.

But can it be greater now

When nobody is making any sounds?
