Red Sailor Girl
Red Sailor Girl Sophie Dunér © 2007
Red-haired girl hanging on the wall,
She’s got one blue eye, the other green and yellow.
She’s a sailor girl under coloured stars,
Shining through the black night over
The dark and deep blue sea.
Is she waiting for her lover?
Lonely, down by the shore;
Starry eyes through the black of night:
This is little red sailor girl.
Sailor girl isn’t what she seems.
She’s a different girl than she appears to be – oh yes she’s
Got a nerve and she deserves to be
Captain of the ship that takes her to the moon,
But is she waiting for her lover?
Lonely down by the shore.
Starry eyes through the black of night:
This is little red sailor girl.
Sailor girl is drifting away
Over the seas and quite astray.
Sailor girl, she’s all alone,
Sailor girl, she’s on her own.
Red-haired girl hangs on the wall,
Painted by her lover’s hands.
Red-haired girl, she might just fall
Into her lover’s endless call;
Sailor girl is in trouble now
Wants to sail away, but she is wondering why
Red-haired girl is all fed up;
Will she stay – or will she leave this madness all behind?
But is she waiting for her lover?
Lonely down by the shore.
Starry eyes through the black of night:
This is little red sailor girl.
Sailor girl is drifting away
Over the seas and quite astray.
Sailor girl, she’s all alone,
Sailor girl, she’s on her own.
Red-haired girl hangs on the wall,
Painted by her lover’s hands.
Red-haired girl, she might just fall
Into her lover’s endless call;
