The Rain in Spain Sophie Dunér © 2000
Once upon a time
I was bigger than life
I had my coffee black with no milk
Then you saw me standing
So high on that mountain
Then you saw me falling
The curtain was closing
I saw myself
through binoculars eyes
The camera was rolling
It was all in the past
Then my second self
Came along to enlighten me
She said to myself
It was all about a theft
Here comes the rain drops falling
I saw my mirror crashing
Truth slaps my face, I’m calling
For oxygen and water
Once upon a time
I was smarter than life
I had my mind
In front of my eyes
Then you came along
So free to insult me
What a waste of a life
I thought I knew
All that there was to know
I thought I’d crossed the limits
But my circle was closed
Than my second self came along to confess me
She said to myself it was all ´bout a lie
Here comes the rain drops falling
I saw my mirror crashing
Truth slaps my face, I’m calling
For oxygen and water
For oxygen and water
For oxygen and water
For oxygen and water
